Few years ago in the Tamil magazine Vikatan, a college student had written about her tour to Rameshwaram. She had written about the temples and beach, and when it was the time to return to her bus to leave for Chennai, as she wrote, " I took a pinch of soil and applied it on my forehead as if it was the vipoothi, praying that I get at least a minute percentage of knowledge, sincereity and simplicity of Dr.Abdul Kalam, who was born in this holy town of Rameshwaram...".

That college girl might have acted somewhat hyper-sentimentally, nevertheless she reflected the mindsets of millions of Indians for whom Dr.Kalam was undoubtedly a Hero.

It is a gifted opportunity to be in a small group listening to his speech -Deepika, Shibu & Madhu were in the audience when Dr.Kalam visited Orlando Hindu Temple last week (Oct-25, Sunday). (See attached pics). Both Shibu & Madhu were very impressed with his brief speech (and perhaps, the significance he attached to students).
